LEARN TO LIFT
Our Beginner Program for kettlebells is a 6-Week progression designed to expose you to foundational principles of lifting, how those principles apply to lifting kettlebells, and exercises specific to kettlebell training that open wide your movement and fitness potential!
The layout of each class:
Warm-Up - Follow the leader and create momentum with the bell
Drills (Ladders, repeats, intervals) - practice the base movements, and build complexity
Strength Circuit - Use kettlebells for traditional strength development (1 upper, 1 lower, 1 dynamic exercise)
Over the 6 weeks, we will build on each previous session, addressing specific, individual challenges not limited to:
So you think you know how to hinge? What about the swing? Our classes group essential kettlebell movements with other classic strength movements to build both strength and stamina! Kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells, clubbells, medballs,....all tools are fair game here!
This class will emphasize gaining strength & hypertrophy in the Primary Human Movements (HINGE, SQUAT, PUSH, PULL, LOADED CARRY). Strength is your cup, and the bigger your cup the more you can fill it with the things you enjoy doing!
Circuits and intervals are the primary format of these classes, and are designed to fill the conditioning gap in your routine. We use many different tools here: Dumbbell's, Barbell's, Kettlebell's, ropes, boxes, medballs, tires & hammers, sleds, and bodyweight exercises.
Kettlebell Sport focuses on a select group of kettlebell movements: the snatch, the jerk, and the clean & jerk (longcycle), which are performed for maximum repetitions in a given time limit. Challenge your general endurance, muscular endurance, and maximum aerobic power.
Nowhere on Vancouver Island will you have the opportunity to learn the way of the clubbell like you can at Ballistic Strength! Reminiscent of the classic wooden Indian Club, the clubbell is a heavier, but sleeker version that takes circular strength to the next level. Just like the kettlebell, the clubbell is a favourite of MMA trainers and fighters worldwide!
