Nanaimo Kettlebell Club heads to West Coast Kettlebell Classic / AKA Regional Event in San Francisco, CA
So we are headed back to California, with a couple of kettlebell first-timers in tow. We leave Tuesday, Feb. 3 on a plane to San Francisco where we will hopefully be greeted by sunny weather, something that was missing on last year's trip. I'll be bringing the umbrella I bought last year while I was there, just in case. Rachel and I will be testing ourselves and pushing our limits even further this time around as we attempt some new competition PR's. I'll be competing in the Men's Snatch with the 24kg, and Rachel will be doing both Snatch and Longcycle with the 16kg. Something new this time around will be our participation in the Team Jerk Relay. Rachel, myself, Ben, and Kendra of Nanaimo Kettlebell Club will be joined by Team Canada member Jean Whitney of Iron Bell Fitness in Victoria, BC to complete our roster. It should be a great event and look for blog and podcast updates covering our road to competition. Here is a video of Rachel's snatch set last year:
Are you really as smart as you think you are? Are things really all that black and white, or is there more to it than meets the eye? Can you boil water in a paper cup? Common sense would say no, but uncommon sense has something else to say about it. Check out this article by Sport Psychologist Steven M. Ledbetter, RKC and disciple/colleague of Dan John.
Could this be Kakuryu's basho?
